This man was accused of stealing his own car

Police accused this graduate student of stealing his own car. Then arrested him for resisting and disobeying. Now, Lawrence Crosby is suing the city. Crosby was driving to class at Northwestern University in OCT 2015. When a woman called the police saying a black man was stealing a car. She gave them the car's license plate  number. Officers rushed him and started hitting and kneeing him. [AdSense-A] Crosby eventually explained that the car was his. And a judge later dropped the disobeying and resisting charges. But a police department spokesman says the officers' actions were justified. Crosby is suing both the city of Evanston and the arresting officers for false arrest and excessive force.
