CVS Announced Cheap EpiPen

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 30: Timothy Lunceford Stevens, who suffers from autoimmune diseases and allergies, holds an EpiPen as he speaks to reporters during a protest against the price of EpiPens, outside the office of hedge fund manager John Paulson, August 30, 2016 in New York City. Paulson's hedge fund is a major investor in Mylan, the pharmaceutical company who has raised the price of EpiPens over 400 percent in the past 8 years. Mylan announced on Monday they will start offering a generic version of EpiPen, which will cost about half the price of the 600 dollar brand name version. (Photo by Drew Angerer/Getty Images)
CVS announced a cheap generic alternative to Epipens nearly 6X cheaper than the name brand. The pharmaceutical giant partnered with IMPAX Laboratories and now carries a two pack Epinepherine auto injector that will cost just $110. This is great news for those with strong allergies after continuous price hikes since 2009 with the Mylan brand epipen costing $600 and the generic alternative still a whopping $300. The lower cost generic form of 'Adrenaclick' is available nationwide.
