The last man to walk on the moon has died at 82


The last man to walk on the moon has died. Gene Cernan was the commander of Apollo 17, the last lunar landing mission to date. He reached the lunar surface on December 11, 1972 and set the record time in Lunar Spacewalks totally 22 hours 3 minutes and 57 seconds. Gene Cernan passed away on January 16, 2017 after what family members stated as 'ongoing health issues'. "we leave as we came and God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind" - Gene Cernan (Commander of Apollo 17).
