United Airlines Forces Mom To Carry Toddler For Entire Fligh

United Airlines forced this mother to carry her toddler on her lap for an entire flight. Shirley Yamauchi and her son, Taizo were on their way to Boston from Hawaii when a standby passenger approached them and claimed Taizo's seat. Airlines require children 2 years old and over to have a seat. Taizo is 27 months old, and weighs 25 pounds. Yamauchi said she spent nearly $1000 each for both of their tickets. After the standby passenger took the seat, Yamauchi told a flight attendant about the problem. But claims she shrugged, said the flight was full, and walked away. Yamauchi wanted to protest further but was afraid retaliation in the aftermath of the incident with Dr. David Dao, who was violently having his teeth knocked out and dragged off a United flight and she didn't wanted that to happen to her. So she held Taizo on her lap for the rest of their three hour flight. United finally apologized five days later. They said that Taizo's ticket was not scanned properly so the seat was offered to a standby passenger. Yamauchi says she is nervous about flying in United again.
