This man with dementia was punched 11 times by a personal care worker. A sirveilance camera installed by the family of 89 year old Georges Karam captured Jie Xiao changing his diaper at a long term care home. Then repeatedly punching him in the face. The video also shows Xiao taunting Karam to hit him. Karam, who has parkinson's and alzheimer's, can only get around via wheelchair and speaks little english. Xiao pleadd guilty to assault and was removed from the home. Karam's family installed the cameras after becoming concerned about his unexplained injuries. They had also filed complaints wth police and the ministry of health and long term care regarding a separate incident. Ontario's long term care has been under fire recently. With politicians calling for inquiries into the state of the province's facilities. Long term care worker Elizabeth Wettlaufer was sentenced to life in prison after she pleaded guilty to killing eight seniors at three long term care facilities and one private home.
